Exploring Famous Artists

For the last week (before our End of Year Celebrations!), the children explored the works of Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet. The children shared words relating to the artworks and what it reminded them of. The children used spoons and forks to manipulate the paints to create starry sky scenes inspired by Van Gogh (and thunderstorms as inspired by our most recent thundery weather!) and then created more muted toned artworks using pastel colours inspired by Monet’s Waterlilies. Don’t they look quite the contrast alongside each other?
